Great friends make you green smoothies. And then they drink it purposefully to make a green smoothie mustache.

Meet my friend, Becca. The always enterntaining, goofy, makes-you-shake-your-head kind of gal :)

Adding greens to your smoothie is an easy, fast way to get some great nutrients for your system. The trick is making it taste great, too.

Here are some frequent greens I like to to add into my smoothies:

  • Kale

  • Spinach

  • Romaine

  • Collards

  • Avocado

Add about 1 cups of packed in greens, or a big handful.

Avocado is a great substitute for bananas! Other than their sweetness for taste, bananas create a creamy base for thicker smoothies. Run out of bananas? Add an avocado! Their taste is virtually neutral when blended with the other ingredients.

Here are some frequent add-ins to make the green smoothie taste well:

  • Banana

  • Mango

  • Berries

  • Orange

  • Peach

  • Pinapple

Add almost double the amount of the above fruits to greens.

Liquid base:

  • Coconut water

  • Almond milk

  • Coconut milk

  • Orange juice

  • Water

Add enough liquid so that the mixture can blend well into a drinkable smoothie.

Happy green smoothie making!
